Lemon Lime Dracaena Care Guide

Lemon Lime Dracaena stand out for their neon colored leaves, their care is fairly straight forward. This variety of Dracaena can grow to 5-7 feet but with pruning you can manage it to a lower size.

Dracaena like bright to medium indirect light, too much direct sunlight will scorch the leaves. Leggy and browning leaves are a sign of too little light.

Dracaena like to dry out slightly between waterings. Water your Lemon Lime Dracaena about once a week, check the top 2in of your plant with a soil moisture meter to ensure that it is dry before watering, if it is still reading moist wait a few days and check the moisture level again. Make sure your Dracaena is well draining and not sitting in standing water for prolonged periods.

Make sure to wipe the leaves of your Dracaena periodically with a damp towel to remove any dust build up. Fertilize your plant during the growing season (Spring through Fall) with a half dose of organic fertilize, follow the package instructions and dilute with more fresh clean water. Make sure to only fertilize your plant after it has been watered, do not apply fertilizer to dry soil as it can burn the roots of the plant.

Dracaena plants generally need to be repotted every 2-3 years. To tell if the plant needs to be repotted the soil will be very firm to the touch, carefully remove the plant from the pot and check and see if the roots have begun to spiral around the pot. If this is the case you can trim back the roots slightly and get a larger pot for the plant.

Dracaena are toxic to both humans and animals and should not be kept in houses with small children and pets.
